I actually no longer live in Nashville, having recently relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio, but welcome to the Music City nonetheless!

I definitely recommend diving into Digital Nashville as a way to meet people. You also might check out Geek Breakfast, Barcamp, Podcamp or Nashville Startup Weekend, depending on what you’re into. Both Centresource and Firefly Logic host monthly casual meetups where you can mix and mingle with the interactive folks in town, if that’s your thing.

I recently got involved with Digital Nashville. I have just recently moved here from Chicago and am looking to receive advice and guidance as to what is required in this industry. I graduate with a degree in new media journalism and was hoping to get in contact with others that same the same career goals as I do. While the 5 whys method is simple, most organizations and people find it deceptively simple. Why? From experience, most people either (1) jump to conclusions, (2) jump to solutions, or (3) finger point and blame.

The 5 Whys, while simple and easy to do, is an effective countermeasure that can prevent implementing a solution to the wrong problem and can prevent blame finding.

Going to a country to learn a language is by far the best way to do it … not only is it a much faster method of learning a language, it’s also much more fun. I took french in school and didn’t really learn much, but when I went to France, I gained a much stronger grasp of the language.

I find myself often having the same conversation with friends who visit resorts in exotic countries. I always ask if they venture into the towns, to absorb culture. Getting lost in a foreign land, away from touristy aspects, is a rewarding experience.

Conventional thinking will show that people will flock to main cities for studying foreign language. It's interesting you immediately mentioned the country's gem a 4-hour bus ride from main city to study Spanish. Most travelers will be aware they can go straight to Xela for Spanish lesson and more serene places and culture. Tom, sorry for the late response – didn’t see your comment there.

It’s been a long time, but I’m sure I did, and therefore obviously I’m accountable to whatever I signed.

That said, rather recently we got an email from our wedding photographer offering to sell us a DVD with all the photos in .JPG format.

So, happy ending and all that.
